Dates

Not dates in a diary, dates with men. That’s what I’m talking about. I met Simon a week ago. His profile on the online dating website looked promising. We have similar backgrounds, similar temperments, yet enough things different to give us our own interests and hobbies. He likes sailing, I like shopping. Doing my usual thing I try and work out how we can combine the two but really me and boats, whatever their size don’t mix. Anyway, I don’t have to tell him so on the first date. We met in trafalgar square. The night was cool so I had dressed for the weather. When I saw him from the top of the steps I recognised him. He said he didn’t feel the cold and that was certainly true. Point to self. Never rely on him to be a gentleman and provide me with a coat in the cold!! So, I’m nervous and excited. He’s fairly good looking but not stunning. He has a good physique and obviously works out. Good start. He turns and looks at me, recognises me, and smiles. Such a warm smile. Another good point. We say hi and after a few minutes of awkwardness we head off to the bar. I’ve agreed to meet for a drink, thinking if he’s a jerk I can head off after one round!! No need to be worried, we chatted for ages and after about 2 hours and more than one drink we both realised we were ravenous. I suggested a great Italian I knew and off we went. Arm in arm! It felt like I’d known him ages. And he said the same thing. The evening was a great success and we arranged to meet the following week. I can’t wait. My smile is huge!!

Some more good news to mention, I was talking to my best friend the other day and she just got this great new job at a Beauty PR firm. We went out for catch-up drinks last night and she was going on and on about all of the benefits that comes with the job. I mean, I am sure that not an easy job and sometimes you have to work insanely long hours, but think of all the shoes! Regardless, well done Molly!
